Rather, I believe that the Remote Desktop services I am using are throttling the throughput between my machines. The ping latency is less than 1ms (0.05 to be exact) between the two machines so I don't believe it the latency of my LAN that is causing the issue. They are connected via a 1Gbit switch through cat5e Ethernet cable (which I believe also has 1Gbit throughput). R9 290x GPU (which will hopefully be used for very light gaming if this post yields anything)Ĭurrently my Server is located 5 ft from my thin client. I understand that gaming over the internet is impractical in most cases and am only looking to get low latency over my local network. ![]() I am looking to stream media over Proxmox, and eventually game- now before you scoff at this idea I need to clarify something: I am only looking to do this over LAN. ![]() I have installed Proxmox and am thoroughly enjoying it- however the remote desktop leaves much to be desired for my uses.
